For the discriminating beer geek, no amount of craft beer awesomeness is too much. Following up last year's Twelve Days of Beer-mas I felt I needed to outdo myself. I'm still not sure that putting this together and surprising the Mr. Craft wasn't more fun than him receiving it. I am happy to say I was able to enjoy a lot of this gift with him. I put together 24 beers for the calendar and then a bonus three beers for Christmas day opening.

A little note: If you plan to make one of these for your beer geek you might want to put the days in order from top to bottom. When opening these some of the top days fell into the holes created by the lower ones that had already been cleared. Next year: beer tree? We shall see!
This is an awesome list! I just managed to get Ben a bunch of Pliny the Elder and Old Rasputin ( the 3 yr. barrel aged stout, totally got some good points there!) I just showed him this list and he got really excited about it:) Next year we should go shop for these together and use my sweet whole foods partner card!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great list and a fabulous idea! I didn't even know you could get Pliny in bottles. You are blowing my mind. We are having a winter brew growler-fest next Saturday evening. Kids welcome! Let me know if you're free...
ReplyDeleteV - thanks to your stellar advice we went shopping at all the Beer places you and Susan suggested and it was a huge hit. The best part - we had a blast doing it! XO
ReplyDeleteThanks for the idea. I did this for my husband and he LOVED it. I went to my local bottle shop (Volcanic Bottle Shoppe in Hood River, OR) and had the owner help me find unique beers for my Beer Guy. I individually wrapped the beers, so he had something to open each day. The kids even helped choose a handful of the beers and looked forward to my husband opening a new beer each day, hoping it was the one they chose. I wish I had kept track of the beers I bought this year. I will definitely do this again next year!
